Call for Associate Professor or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position (Division of HPC Systems)

Center for Computational Sciences, University of Tsukuba is inviting applications for an Associate Professor or a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor. Our program is interested in recruiting researchers with high performance computing, big data analysis, artificial intelligence system software background (details below).

* Position Details

Position Title: Associate Professor or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

Number of positions: One

Position Type: Full time, tenured. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor will be tenured after passing a review in five years.

* Position Description

General Description: Research about system software for high performance computing, big data analysis, and artificial intelligence

Detailed description: Center for Computational Sciences consists of researchers in computer science and computational science, and promotes computational sciences, big data analysis and artificial intelligence designing and exploring supercomputers. The successful candidate is expected to have research background regarding frameworks of computational sciences, big data analysis and artificial intelligence, and system software for parallel I/O and storage system, and to co-design next supercomputers by fostering connections among computer science and computational sciences. Also, he or she is expected to train and advice undergraduate and graduate students in College of Information Science, and Department of Computer Science, and Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering.

* Applications

General Qualifications: Applicants must meet the following qualifications and demonstrate competency in researching about system software for high performance computing, big data analysis and artificial intelligence.
1) Ph.D. (or it should be obtained by the time of job commencement)
2) Qualified research experience in the research field noted above
3) Qualified skills in advising students in the university and the graduate school

2) Curriculum Vitae including photo and email address
3) List of publications (should note referred or non-referred)
4) Reprints of five major papers (four or more should be published within five years)
5) Summary of research activities (about 800 words referring to the major papers)
6) Research and education plan (about 800 words)
7) Research funding activities
8) Two or more recommendation letters, or names and contact information of two or more referees
Documents should be submitted by hard copies and a USB memory in PDF format. After screening of application materials, there will be interviews including presentation.
