Contents of work, Research field:

Theoretical research in the field of materials science employing computational science approaches, in particular first-principles methods. The International Tenure Truck assistant professor shall be required to research at an institute abroad for two or more years in cooperation with mentors in our center and in the institute abroad, under the employment contract to the University of Tsukuba. Publications of internationally co-authored papers in well-established international journals are included in the review criteria for tenure.

 

Starting date:

As soon as possible after a hiring decision is made.

 

Status of employment:

Full-time until March 31, 2023. The International Tenure Track assistant professor may become a tenured assistant professor after passing a review for tenure which will be performed at the last year of the tenure-track period.

 

Qualifications:

An applicant needs to have a Doctoral Degree of Ph. D. which has been received within last 10 years, or is expected to obtain the degree by the end of March, 2019.

  2. List of research activities including papers, books, competitive research funds (including applications), and status of research collaborations. (Separate refereed and non-refereed papers in the list)
  3. Reprints of 5 major papers published within last 5 years. (One paper may be published earlier than 5 years.)
  4. Summary of research activities.
  5. Research plan and expected achievements during the tenure-track period.
  6. Name and affiliation of an expected mentor at an institute abroad, and a status of communications with the expected mentor.
  7. Recommendation or reference letters (one or more).
