Center for Computational Sciences (CCS), University of Tsukuba is conducting “Computational Medical Science Project” to explore medical technology based on computational science in collaboration with medical science. One of the projects in this project, “3D Surgical Vision,” integrates scene understanding based on 3D visual information with Augmented Reality (AR) to realize a 3D surgical navigation system that enables an intuitive understanding of procedures and medical techniques. Our research aims to improve the skill of medical operations and educational effectiveness, as well as to realize a remote diagnosis and surgical operation system.
