CCS signs collaboration agreement with GATE Institute, Sofia University

The Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) at the University of Tsukuba has solidified a significant partnership with the Big Data for Smart Society (GATE) Institute, situated at Sofia University in Bulgaria. The agreement, signed on April 26, 2024, marks a milestone in fostering collaboration between academic institutions in advancing research and innovation in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence (AI).

GATE Institute is renowned for its collaborative efforts with government bodies, industries, and entrepreneurs to drive impactful research and innovation in the realms of big data and AI. The institute serves as a hub for foundational and applied research, as well as for promoting education in these cutting-edge domains.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between CCS and GATE Institute aims to facilitate joint research initiatives, promote information sharing, and encourage academic exchange. The collaboration will particularly focus on leveraging meteorology research to contribute to the development of smart cities and societies.

In continuation of the MOU signing ceremony, a hybrid seminar was conducted, providing a platform for engaging discussions among participants.
